Welcome back to the third and final term of third grade this year! Our day started off with a meaningful discussion about opportunities changing children's lives. We had comments such as, "Don't buy from child vendors so that their parents will send them to school." and "Maybe children work instead of going to school so that they can have money to go to school." Students reviewed the rubric for the Unit 3 Summative Assessment Task. We started to think about which children's rights are special to each of us and how we would like to present our understanding to the parents. Next, we will decide if it is best to work independently, in small groups, or in large groups. We will work on this for the next two weeks. Thank you to the parents for engaging the students in trips, discussions, and activities during the break. The experiences transfer to the classroom, allowing for rich classroom discussions.
