Art! Fun times!
- First, students write Haiku using at least one spelling word.
- Next, they decorate the paper using blow art. Students move the tempera paint on the paper. They blow through straws to move the paint every which way. The paint has been diluted with water. The less water used, the more vivid the colors.
- Then, we practice writing using calligraphy pens.
- After practice, we write the Haiku on our splatter decorated backgrounds.
- Finally, I crop the finished product to fit inside the frames. The frames are from the student portraits taken annually. The portraits students don't buy are returned to the photographers. We keep the frames.
