Dear Students and Parents of Ms. Rashid’s Class,I would like the students in my class to participate in the following competition.
The Environment Agency of Abu Dhabi has organized an environment competition for students. The first three positions in each category will be awarded prizes. The 10 best entries in each category will be awarded a certificate. Last year they had 132 schools and 931 students participating. We must have an internal AISA competition to select our 3 best entries in each category, which will be submitted in the competition at the end of March. AISA Absolute Deadline is Wednesday, March 19, 2008Category 1: Artwork
(Hand-drawn on A3 size paper and framed on black chart paper)Level 2: Ages 6-8 yearsTheme: Melting Ice and Polar Animals
Tips-Polar Bears, seals, killer whales, wolf, etc are some of the polar animals.
-Polar Bears’ world is melting and they cannot hunt their favorite foods, which are the seals due to the melting of ice.
-Because of melting ice polar animals are separated from their families and loved ones.
Level 3: Ages 9-11 yearsTheme: Our Changing Climate
-It may rain for an hour and then become sunny and clear.
-Climate change may affect people’s health.
-In some parts of the world, people may not have enough to eat because they cannot grow the food that they need.
I look forward to your entries!
Sincerely, Ms. S. Rashid
